Roger Alan Whisman, 78, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Summit City Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne.
Roger was born on June 17, 1948, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Porter and Frieda Whisman,
He was united in marriage to Trina Rogers on March 22, 2025, in Decatur, Indiana.
Roger proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he spent many years as a truck driver. While he enjoyed his career on the road, his true passion was auctioneering.
He was a member of VFW Post 6236 in Decatur.
Roger enjoyed spending time playing cornhole and croquet.
Wife, Trina Whisman of Decatur, Indiana; son, Keith (Darlene) Whisman of Greenwood, Indiana; daughter, Michelle Hall of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Tim (Tresur) Whisman of South Bend, Indiana; daughter, Lisa (Jerren) McQuaid of Indianapolis, Indiana; step-daughter, Jodi Rogers of Decatur, Indiana; two step-sons, Justin and Travis Springer both of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Donald (Vera) Whisman of Bremen, Indiana; sister, Janet Lein of Sun City, Arizona; sister, Judi (Jeff) Zimmerman of Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; six step-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Dietrich.
In following Roger’s wishes, there will be no services.
