Robert Lee “Bob” Schwartz, 85, of Decatur, Indiana, passed on Friday morning, May 22, 2026, at River Terrace in Bluffton.
Bob was born on November 28, 1940, in Berne, Indiana, to Amos M. and Rachel (Amstutz) Schwartz. He was united in marriage to Kathleen K. Donovan on November 27, 1965, and together they shared more than 60 years of love together.
Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Fruehauf Trailers in Fort Wayne for many years until its closing. He later worked for LICA and retired from Strick Trailers in Monroe, Indiana.
Bob was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed spending time gardening. He loved traveling to new destinations and cherished quiet days by the beach. Above all, Bob was known for his generous heart and caring spirit, always willing to give his time, resources, and love to those in need.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Schwartz of Decatur; son, Jeremy Schwartz of Fremont; daughter, Ginger (Mark) Swenski of Decatur; and two grandchildren, Quinton (Madison) Swenski and Carson Swenski.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pauline (Steven) Riley.
Preferred memorials can be given to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Shepherd’s House.
