Robert L. Butcher, 60, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at his residence.

He was born September 16, 1966, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Robert H. Butcher and Barbara J. (Hoffman) Butcher.

Robert was a loving, generous, and fun-loving man who had a way of making those around him feel welcome and cared for. He was employed at Perma-Column in Ossian, Indiana. Robert was always willing to lend a helping hand and especially enjoyed cooking for the people he loved.

He had many interests and loved being outdoors. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and riding his motorcycle. He was also well known around Monroeville for his soft-serve ice cream machine and enjoyed making soft-serve sundaes.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara (Fred Bolinger) Butcher of Monroeville, Indiana; brother, Barry (Tonya) Butcher of Monroeville, Indiana; and niece and nephew Alex & Alivia Butcher.

Robert was preceded in death by his father.

There will be no funeral services for Robert.

Friends and family are invited to join Robert’s family in remembering him from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville.

Preferred memorials can be given to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church- Food Bank, United Methodist Church in Monroeville or Humane Fort Wayne.
