Ricky Wayne Rhymer

February 9, 1975 — December 6, 2025

Ricky W Rhymer, 50 years old, died Saturday December 6, 2025 unexpectedly at his rural Monroeville home. He was born February 9, 1975, the son of Rick L and Joyce (Kline) Rhymer. He was united in marriage to Katana (Galligher) Rhymer September 3 2011.

Ricky was a man of quiet faith, a devoted family man, and a grandpa with love beyond measure for his two grandchildren, Jackson and Eleyna.

He graduated Heritage High School in 1994. He went on to college later at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne, and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree.

He was a distribution technician for Messer by trade, but his true passion was cooking. His smoker and grilling talent, brought him true joy. He prepared countless meals for his friends and family. Ricky was a giver, and a true close friend to so many. His laughter, sense of humor and friendship, will never be replaced. He was an avid Michigan fan and a member of Sons of American Legion Post 420. He gave all of us great love and happiness. To express how missed he will be is impossible. There is no way to measure a good man with just words.

Ricky is survived by his wife, of 14 years, Katana Rhymer; Stepchildren, Brittany (Kardain Gibson) Emerick; Kevin (Kayla) Emerick and his grandchildren, the light of his life, Jackson South and Eleyna Emerick; his parents Rick and Joyce Rhymer, his brother, Toby (Stephanie) Rhymer, his sisters Tonya (Barry) Butcher, Gena (Robert Witte) Rhymer and Trisha (Ed Gibson) Rhymer; his close nephew Blake Rhymer and maternal Grandmother Beverly Kline. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Kay Galligher and Katana’s siblings, Kelly (Chuck) Diez; Khris (Jerry Beech) Galligher and Kerry Galligher.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, James Galligher; brother-in-law, Kevin Galligher; Maternal Grandfather Noel Kline; paternal grandparents, Richard and Carol Rhymer. May they all rejoice as they welcome him home to heaven.
