Rebecca L. “Becky” Genth, 62, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away Saturday evening, September 20, 2025, at Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born on October 17, 1962, in Freeport, Illinois, to John Bunnell and the late Judith (Granger) Hudson. On February 22, 1992, Becky was united in marriage to Johnnie Kevin Genth at Decatur Church of God.
A 1981 graduate of Shenandoah High School, Becky went on to earn her Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from Ivy Tech. She was the owner and operator of Becky’s Village Restaurant in Willshire, Ohio, for 26 years before her retirement on June 22, 2025. Dedicated to her work, Becky’s restaurant became a central part of her life and the Willshire community, where she cultivated many lasting friendships. She was also a member of the Decatur Church of God.
Surviving are her husband, Johnnie Kevin Genth of Decatur; daughters, Nichole (Kyle) Ehman and Christina (Mitch) Smith, both of Milton, Georgia; father, John Bunnell of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Tony Bunnell of Middletown, Indiana; Rusty Hudson of Fishers, Indiana; and Morrie “Mo” Bunnell of Atlanta, Georgia; along with five grandchildren, Isabelle and Weston Ehman, and Annalane, Henry, and George Smith.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Judith and Bart Hudson, and a brother, Duane Hudson.
In keeping with Becky’s wishes, no visitation or services will be held. Burial will take place in Daleville, Indiana.
