Patricia Joyce (Johns) Luecke

Patricia Joyce (Johns) Luecke, 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away late Friday afternoon, November 6, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Pat was born January 30, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Roy and Louise Johns. She was united in marriage to Walter E. Luecke on May 17, 1958. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2018.

She was a member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Flatrock in Monroeville, Indiana. When living in the Big Rapids region, she was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Big Rapids.

Pat was a secretary for Dr. Cutler in Flint, Michigan for eight years. Following her tenure there, she was a secretary in the library at Ferris State University for over 20 years.

She spent much of her time not just watching TV, but watching sports, specifically Michigan State sports! Pat was perhaps best known for her constant care for others. If you knew Pat, she would send you a card for any type of occasion to lift your spirits or show her care…the epitome of the servant to others. Her house was also the gathering place for family events and get togethers. This would include all layers of family, aunts, uncles, and other relatives…they were ALL family.

She is survived by daughter, Deborah (Rev. Douglas) Christian of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Steven (Vicky) Luecke of Bakersfield, California; daughter, Shari Hinkle of Safety Harbor, Florida; sister, Nancy Marek of Tennessee; nine grandchildren: Joshua (Alisha) Christian, Elizbeth Stark, Jacob (Sydney) Christian, Rev. Matthew (Moriah) Christian, Megan (Mike) Anderson, Blake (Katherine) Luecke, Garrett Luecke, Ryan Hinkle, and Logan Hinkle; and 12 great-grandchildren: Levi Christian, Hannah Christian, Hunter Stark, Oliver Stark, Everly Stark, Abigail Christian, Peter Christian, Lydia Christian, Andrew Christian, Niklas Anderson, Maddie Luecke, and Hudson Luecke.

Funeral services for Patricia will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock with Rev. Douglas Christian officiating. Family will receive friends and family two hours prior to services at the church on Wednesday at the church.

Committal will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at Highland View Cemetery in Big Rapids Township, Mecosta County, Michigan.

Preferred memorials are to St. John – Emmanuel Lutheran School Scholarship Fund or the donor’s choice.
