Norman F. Brokaw

Norman F. Brokaw, 78, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on February 10, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri. His parents are the late Luther and Lela S. (Reppert) Brokaw-Kershner. Norman was united in marriage to Nancy Hoverman on June 9, 1984.

Norman honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. during the Vietnam Conflict serving from 1965 to 1974. He additionally served in the Air National Guard in Fort Wayne for ten years.

He was a member of the V.F.W. #6236 and the American Legion Post #43.

Norman worked various places as a mechanic and enjoyed farming.

He loved anything with a motor, enjoyed watching Nascar, and attending the Eldora Races in Ohio. Norman loved spending time with his family and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Brokaw of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Tiffany (Lance Gruben) Brokaw of Yuma, Arizona; son, Brice (Maggie) Brokaw of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Jamie Azbill of Bluffton, Indiana; daughter, Jessica (Nick) Smith of Monroe, Indiana; 10 grandchildren: Logan Gruben, Xavier Gruben, Aden Brokaw, Ava Brokaw, Kaitlyn Anderson, Caleb Azbill, Abby Azbill, Nicolas Smith, Ethan Smith, and Chance Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Ellie.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana with Rev. Dr. Douglas Schoelles officiating. Burial will follow at Ray Cemetery in rural Monroe, Indiana, with military graveside honors rendered by the United States Marine Corps, United States Air Force, and the American Legion Post #43.

Friends and family will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana, and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
