Norma Lee Luginbill

Norma Lee Luginbill, 94, of Willshire, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, January 1, 2026, surrounded by her family at her residence.

She was born on December 24, 1931, in Ashtabula County, Ohio, to the late Harold Smith and Opal F. (Garwood) Smith. Norma was united in marriage to Vilas Eugene “Gene” Luginbill on October 22, 1950, in Chattanooga, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on July 10, 2009.

She was a faithful member of Union United Methodist Church in Willshire, Ohio.

Norma was employed at Shane Hill Nursing Home for seventeen years, retiring in 2008, and also helped in various capacities on the family farm.

She enjoyed ceramics and crocheting, loved baking, and was very devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jane M. (Phillip) Miller of Mendon, Ohio; Deanna F. (Joseph Fahncke) Lugabihl of Willshire, Ohio; Roger E. (Elizabeth) Luginbill of Rockford, Ohio; and Michelle R. (Mark) Smith of Willshire, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Heather (Travis) Hart, Amy (Ryan) Zehringer, Paul (Tiffany) Lugabihl, Cassandra (Thad) Stauffer, Seth Luginbill, Reece Luginbill, Rogan Luginbill, Erica Sill, and Cody (Paige) Sill; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold V. Smith and Dennis Smith, both in infancy, and by a sister, Maxine Caffee.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana, with Pastor Tom Brunstrup officiating, followed by burial at Willshire Cemetery in Willshire, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.

Preferred memorials may be made to CHP in Van Wert, Ohio.
