Michael E. “Mick” Baker, 77, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Monday evening, May 4, 2026, at his residence.
He was born on September 17, 1948, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Otto J. and Blanche Marie (Straub) Baker. He was united in marriage to Carol Fuhrmann on July 9, 1983.
Mick honorably served his Country in the United States Navy. He was a longtime farmer and owner/operator of Michael E. Baker Repair for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Baker of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Janet Marie (Chad) Nolan of Decatur, Indiana; son, Joshua Baker of Cedar City, Utah; daughter, Juliana Baker of Monroeville, Indiana; brother, John Baker of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Samuel (Lisa) Baker of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Sarah (Mike) Lehman of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Sylvia Chilcote of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Marlene Baker of Ohio City, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Daniel J. Baker, and a sister in infancy, Janet Elaine Baker.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Decatur, Indiana, with Pastor Kevin McGladdery officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Decatur.
Family and friends will be received from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Decatur, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Preferred memorials can be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Heart to Heart Hospice.
