Marilyn L. Thompson, 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Monday afternoon, March 23, 2026, at her residence.
She was born on March 8, 1942 in Decatur, Indiana to Walter M. & Mildred Marie (Harmon) Garwood. She was united in marriage on December 17, 1960 to Ronald K. “Runt” Brown and he preceded her in death. She then was married to Sam Thompson in 2000 and he preceded her in death also.
Her life’s travels took her to various parts of the United States. At each stop on her journey, she attended a church in that area.
Marilyn was a homemaker and also was the owner / operator of Krystal Kleen Service in Vero Beach, Florida.
She was the consummate organizer, whether it was for her family or others. She served the Lord by serving her neighbor as she cared for many elderly people over the years. Additionally, she cared for many children as her vocation of assistance to their parents. She had a servant’s heart to help people.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Rodney K. Brown of Paw Paw, Michigan; daughter, Tina Marie Leavenworth of Vero Beach, Florida; daughter, Bonnie Lou Mann of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Anthony L. Brown of Decatur, Indiana; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her brother, Richard (Mary) Garwood of Angola, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Dentzer.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted for Marilyn at a date to be determined.
Preferred memorials are to Humane Fort Wayne or Parkview Hospice.
Arrangements are by Zwick and Jahn Funeral Homes of Decatur, Indiana.
