Margaret J. Wickey

Margaret J. “Maggie” Wickey, 79, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

She was born on February 27, 1947, in Geneva, Indiana, to the late Levi & Josephine (Schwartz) Christner. Maggie was united in marriage to Tobias “Toby” Wickey on October 23, 1969 and he preceded her in death on October 31, 2021.

Maggie was a member of the Old Order Amish.

Maggie was a long-time part of the cleaning staff for the Yager-Kirchhofer family, including the funeral home and furniture store for over 40 years.

Maggie is survived by two sons, Monroe T.M. (Rebecca R.) Wickey, of Quincy, Michigan, and Amos T.M. (Emily R.) Wickey of Quincy Michigan; four daughters, Josephine T.M. (Levi W.) Wickey of Bryant, Indiana, Emma T.M. (Levi E.J.) Schwartz of Geneva, Indiana, Elizabeth T.M. (Mahlon E.) Eicher of Geneva, Indiana, and Margaret T.M. (Andrew J.) Girod of Bryant, Indiana; two brothers, Samuel (Emma) Christner of Monroe, Indiana, and Levi (Martha) Christner of Geneva, Indiana; three sisters, Elizabeth (Martin) Schwartz of Geneva, Indiana, Rebecca (Jake) Wickey of Bluffton, Indiana, Barbara (Amos) Wickey of Markle, Indiana; Sister-in-law, Mary Christner of Berne, Indiana; 61 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Jake Christner; sister, Josephine Christner (at infancy); two grandchildren, Catherine Wickey and Toby Girod, and two great-grandsons, Toby Wickey and Thomas Wickey.

A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the Levi E.J. and Emma T.M. Schwartz residence, 2880 East 800 South, Geneva, Indiana, with Bishop Samuel E. Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Geneva, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026 and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026 at the Levi E.J. and Emma T.M. Schwartz residence.
