Laura E Schwartz

Laura E. Schwartz, 16, of rural Decatur, Indiana, passed away as a result of a motor vehicle accident Saturday morning, June 6, 2026, in rural Monroe, Indiana.

She was born on March 19, 2010, in Geneva, Indiana, to Walter A.L. and Elma A. Schwartz.

Laura was a member of the Old Order Amish.

She is survived by her parents, Walter A.L. and Elma A. Schwartz of Decatur, Indiana; three brothers, Mervin Schwartz, Alvin, Schwartz, and Marcus Schwartz, sweet baby sister, Rosetta all at home; paternal grandparents, Alvin J.L. and Lovina Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Adeline L. Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; and paternal great-grandmother, Leah Girod of Berne, Indiana.

Laura was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, John E Schwartz, maternal great-grandparents, Levi & Anna Wickey, and paternal great-grandfather, Emanuel Girod.

Funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 at the Walter and Elma Schwartz Residence, 1262 N. 200 E. Decatur, Indiana, with Bishop Joe L.D. Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at Winchester Cemetery in rural Monroe, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday June 7th, 2026, and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday June 8th, 2026 at the Walter and Elma Schwartz Residence.
