Larry R. Messman, 86, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2926 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville.

He was born on January 15, 1940 in Allen County, Indiana to the late Edwin and Lucille (Frane) Messman.

Larry was united in marriage to Judith Barclay on June 16, 1962, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon in New Haven, Indiana and she preceded him in death earlier this month on September 21, 2026.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon, and also a member of the Heritage Lions Club. He retired from Masolite Concrete Products in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

An avid sports fan, Larry spent much of his free time cheering on his favorite teams, especially Notre Dame football. He had a passion for life and loved nothing more than spending time outdoors camping or hitting the lanes for a night of bowling. Above all else, Larry cherished his family, and his greatest joy was simply being surrounded by those he loved.

Survivors include his son, Rick (Carla) Messman of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Beth (Todd Wagner) Messman of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Becky (Jeff) Gerardot of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Ryan (Aimee) Messman of Monroeville, Indiana; sister, Joyce Copsey of Antwerp, Ohio; sister, Joan (John) Murlin of Antwerp, Ohio; sister, Judith Hunt of Antwerp, Ohio; sister, Janet Palmer of Woodburn, Indiana; sister, Jeanne (Gene) Worden of Auburn, Indiana; sister, Janelle (Jeff) Ulmer of New Haven, Indiana; brother, Gary (Jane) Messman of New Haven, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Cassie Messman, Alicia (Jarod) Luginbill, Justin Messman, Maryssa (Marc) Cotter, Jakob Kitzmiller, Jared Gerardot, Taylor Gerardot, Erika Gerardot, Liliann Messman, and Clayten Messman; and six great-grandchildren, Landen Sallee, Arlen Luginbill, Wren Luginbill, Marc Cotter, Louis Cotter, and Cecilia Cotter.

Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Wayne Messman and a sister, Jacqueline Balser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon with Father Sam Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery, Besancon.

Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Preferred memorials may be given to St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon or the Heritage Lion’s Club.
