Kristy Beth Schmitt

Kristy Beth Schmitt, 43, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday evening, December 9, 2025, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne on July 5, 1982, Kristy was the daughter of Terry M. and Joyce A. (Knipstein) Bland. She was married to Justin Schmitt on October 8, 2016.

Kristy dedicated her time to her faith community, serving as a youth leader at Fellowship Missionary Church in Fort Wayne and being very active at The Pointe Church in Fort Wayne. In her younger years, she was an active member of the Girl Scouts. She spent several years working for the War Memorial Coliseum and the Fort Wayne Tin Caps. Kristy had a zest for life, enjoying bowling and karaoke, and shared her mother's passion for playing bingo. She also had a special devotion to celebrating the birthdays of her friends and family.

Kristy is survived by her husband, Justin Schmitt, of Fort Wayne; her sister, Heather Caudill of Fort Wayne; and her nieces and nephews, Liberty and Justice Nelson, and Mason Caudill. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at The Pointe Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with Pastor Rick Canter officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
