Karen S. Secaur, 76, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana.

She was born on September 4, 1949, in Van Wert, Ohio to the late James A. and Lillian L. (Lindermoot) Heckert. Karen was united in marriage to Danny Drake on December 29, 1973, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 1987. She married Nick L. Secaur on November 23, 2002, at New Life Fellowship in Decatur, and he preceded her in death on June 7, 2013.

She was a graduate of Van Wert High School.

Karen was a homemaker.

Karen enjoyed her grandchildren, fishing and computers.

Survivors include three daughters, Tonya Drake of Berne, Indiana, Bobbie (Rickie Williamson) Drake of Garrett, Indiana, and Danette (Chad) Von Gunten of Berne, Indiana; brother, Gary (Donna) Heckert of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Donald (Linda) Chaffee of Three Rivers, Michigan; brother, Dave Heckert of Bluffton, Indiana; sister, Tammy Lough of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Steve Heckert of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Faye Krick of Decatur, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Alexandria (Pattrick) Hakes, Drake Deitsch, Jakob Deitsch, Dereck Drake, Dakota McAtee, Paige McAtee, Olivia (Justin) Ayres, Isabel Von Gunten, and Aidan Von Gunten; and 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Baumgartner; two brothers, Tim Heckert and Grover Heckert; and brother-in-law, David Krick.

In honoring Karen’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at future date.

Preferred memorials can be given to ACCF Heart Fund or Autism Community Together.
