Joseph William Beauchot, 89, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away early Wednesday morning, January 14, 2026 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville.
Joe was born on April 1, 1936 in Monroeville, Indiana to Clarence “Jack” and Elizabeth C. (Westrick) Beauchot. He was united in marriage to Susan J. Brouwer on December 15, 1967, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on January 5, 2015.
Joe served in the United States Navy receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1963 with the rank of Gunners Mate Second Class.
He was a former member of the American Legion Post #420 in Monroeville, Indiana, and a former member of VFW Post #10205 in Monroeville, Indiana.
He attended Monroeville High School prior to joining the Navy. After discharge he worked as an Inspector for Tokheim Corporation for 35 years until his retirement in 1998. He was an avid fisherman and duck hunter.
Joe is survived by a son, Daniel J. (Shawna) Beauchot of Indianapolis, Indiana; two grandsons, Dalton J. Beauchot and Kolt William Beauchot; granddaughter, Kylie Seymour; brother, Gene A. (Jane) Beauchot of Monroeville, Indiana; and sister-in-law, Kathy Beauchot of Columbia City, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard (infant), Robert L, Clarence J. and James E. Beauchot; eight sisters, Betty Jane “Dolly” Beauchot (child), Barbara Jean Beauchot (infant), Rosemary Beauchot (infant), Joan Beauchot (infant), Theresa Beauchot, Sharon Wenger, Kayte (Donald) Grabner, and Carolyn M. (Harold) Blauvelt; and granddaughter, Abigale Michele (17 months).
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with Pastor Ralph Klinker officiating. Burial will follow at Monroeville Memorial Cemetery with Military Graveside Services to be conducted by the American Legion Post #420 Color Guard in conjunction with the United States Navy.
Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials in Joe’s name can be given to Monroeville EMS or Monroeville Fire Department.
