John S. Davis, 72, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at his residence. He was born on May 15, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Robert Paul and Dorotha I. (Forst) Davis.
John owned and operated John S. Davis Construction for more than 45 years, taking great pride in his work and the reputation he built throughout the community.
He was a longtime member of the Navy Club Ship 245 and the VFW Auxiliary 2457, both in New Haven, Indiana, as well as the Sons of the American Legion Post #420 in Monroeville, Indiana, where he held membership for over 44 years.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, and especially cherished hunting trips to Montana with his father, brothers, and sons. Above all, he took great pride in his grandchildren.
Surviving include his sons, Ryan Davis of Hudson, Indiana; Nathan Davis of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Adam (Katrina) Davis of New Haven, Indiana; brothers and sisters, Stephen (Diann) Davis of Prescott Valley, Arizona; Lee (Trina) Davis of Novi, Michigan; Constance (Gene) Guenther of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Susan Klein of Youngsville, Louisiana; Mark (Jacque) Davis of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Dottie (Dan) Nigro of Fort Wayne, Indiana; six grandchildren, Jasper Voirol, Riley Davis, Jonathon Davis, Taylor Davis, Haylee Davis, and Aubrey Davis.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Rogers.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, in Monroeville, Indiana.
Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #420.
