Jimmy C. May

Jimmy C. May, 70, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday evening, June 24, 2026 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on July 5, 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Silven C. and Juanita (Gibson) May.

Jimmy was a member of the Ironworkers Union Local 147. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Monroeville.

Jimmy was an accomplished ironworker, retiring after 32 years of employment. He took great pride in the number of projects he assisted in building.

He found true joy in the quiet rhythm of gardening and the stillness of the lake. For him, owning a pontoon wasn't just about enjoying the water—it was about the happiness he felt sharing those peaceful rides with others.

Survivors include his son, Andrew May of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Jimmy May Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Linda (Larry) Pray of Hoagland, Indiana; brother, Thomas (Nina) May of Monroeville, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Janelle May and Luca May.

Inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on  Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. 

Preferred memorials may be given to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
