Jeanette A. Fuhrman

December 11, 1934 — December 15, 2025

Jeanette A. Fuhrman, age 91, of Decatur, Indiana, passed on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Adams Memorial Hospital.

She was born on December 11, 1934, in Adams County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Herman T. Bleeke and Adele (Blakey) Bleeke. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Fuhrman on March 29, 1953, in Decatur, Indiana; he preceded her in death on May 18, 2024.

Jeanette and Bob were the previous owners and operators of Fuhrman Electric, from which they retired in 1995, as well as owners of Fuhrman Excavating, where they retired in 2002.

Jeanette was a faithful member of St. Mark’s Church, and her life was a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love. Her compassion, gentleness, and servant’s heart were evident in all she did. She quietly served others, always placing the needs of those around her before her own. She lived her life guided by faith, humility, and grace.

One of her greatest joys was time spent with her family, whom she cherished above all else. She especially delighted in moments shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Family gatherings at Lake George were among her most treasured times, where she loved watching her family come together and make memories that will be held close forever.

Jeanette will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and quiet faith will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Jeanette is survived by two daughters, Vickie (Larry) Rumschlag and Julie (Howard “Bub”) Jones both of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Virginia (Don) Gallmeyer of Fremont, Indiana; brother, George (Annis) Bleeke of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren, Jim (Stephanie) Geimer, Emily (Dean) Sives, Laura (Fate Harris) Geimer, Tyler (Sarah) Jones, and Sam (Sarah) Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb, Austin, and Caidyn Geimer, and Grayson, Elyana, Arya, and David Jones; step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven R. Fuhrman, in infancy.

A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Jeanette will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Mark’s Church in Decatur, Indiana, with Rev. David Reed officiating. Private family burial will be held.

Family and friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday.
