James E. Patterson

James E. Patterson, 74, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away Monday afternoon, March 23, 2026, at Assurance Health in Anderson, Indiana.

He was born on May 27, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Otis Patterson, Jr. and Margaret (Angus) Patterson and was united in marriage to Jean Ball on November 13, 1971 at Monroeville United Methodist Church.

He was a fifty-year member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 420 in Monroeville.

Jim was a 1971 graduate of Heritage High School. He worked for EMP Grain in Monroeville, and then did maintenance work for Southbridge Apartments.

Jim enjoyed small game hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Jean C. Patterson of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Burt (Kim) Patterson of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Bradley (Leslie) Patterson, Sr. of Noblesville, Indiana; brother, John Patterson of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; sister, Pat McFeters of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Ashlin Patterson, Bradley Patterson, Jr., Rebecca Hart and Corey Perry; and a great-grandchild, Oliver Perry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jody Barrand.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, in Monroeville, Indiana with Pastor Ron Walter officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana.
