Harold E. Yoquelet

Harold E. Yoquelet, 83, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Stillwater Hospice Home.

He was born on October 29, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Gerald D. “Red” Yoquelet and Betty E. (Rothgeb) Yoquelet.

Harold was a member of St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen in Decatur, Indiana and the Sons of the American Legion Post #43 in Decatur, Indiana.

He attended Monroeville High School where he graduated in 1961. Following graduation, he was employed with International Harvester for 21 years where he worked in production. Following his departure from Harvester, he worked at Fleetwood in Decatur, and he also owned a woodworking business known as Woodpecker and Sons. After his retirement, he worked at TSC and then Menards.

Harold loved to work. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, building and construction projects for anyone. He loved sharing his talents with people but most of all his primary goal in life was to make people laugh and smile. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Harold is survived by his son, Jon (Heidi) Yoquelet of Decatur, Indiana; son, James (Tiffany) Yoquelet of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Travis (Kelli) Yoquelet, Hollianne Yoquelet, Payton Yoquelet, and Tyson Yoquelet; six great-grandchildren, Calieanne Amburgey, Hadley Amburgey, Harrison Yoquelet, Turner Yoquelet, Colstin Yoquelet, and Huxton Harold Yoquelet.

Along with his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Yoquelet.

A funeral service for Harold will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen in Decatur with Pastor Peter Brock and Pastor Berett Steffen officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery-Bingen.

Friends and family will be received two hours prior to the service at the church on Friday, March 6, 2026

Preferred memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran-Bingen or the American Legion Post #43.
