Gloria Ann Daniels

Gloria Ann Daniels, 78, of Decatur, Indiana passed away late Sunday, October 4, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on June 7, 1948 in Decatur, Indiana to Paul and Catherine (Becher) Longsworth. Gloria was united in marriage to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Edward L. Daniels in 1971, at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.

She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur where she had previously taught Sunday school.

Gloria graduated from Adams Central High School Class of 1966. She worked at First State Bank in Decatur and did childcare in her home.

She loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends, deeply. Gloria cherished the time she spent with them. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and for the kindness she showed to those around her. One of the things she loved most was baking, especially her Christmas cookies. What began as something she made with love from her mother’s recipe became a cherished family tradition. Her grandchildren continue making her Christmas cookies today, carrying on a special tradition and keeping a little piece of her love alive with every batch. Her greatest legacy was the wisdom she shared through the way she lived her life; never give up, remember that God is always with you, never stop being who you are, and always be kind. She taught those she loved to keep going through difficult times, hold on to their faith, stay true to themselves, and treat others with compassion.

She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Daniels of Decatur, Indiana; two daughters, Tina (Derek) Augsburger and Teri Daniels both of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Joe (Pam) Longsworth of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Linda Williams of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Rita Chrispin of Olympia, Washington; brother, Dwight (Jayne) Longsworth of Rockford, Ohio; brother-in-law, Howard (Wanda) Neuenschwander of Berne, Indiana; and grandchildren, Sydney (Guillermo) Morales, Dylan (fiancé, Claudia Hebble) Augsburger, and Ella Augsburger.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Nancy Neuenschwander and Susan Hartman; brother, Dennis Longsworth; brothers-in-law, James Chrispin and Dennis Morgan.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor Zachary Oedewaldt officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the church.
