Frank W. Guenin, 97, of Monreoville, died Thursday, March 27th at home. He was born March 4th, 1929 to Claston (Bud) and Lucy Guenin and was a lifetime resident of Allen Country.
Frank retired from Rea Magnet Wire after 44 years. He coached little league and pony league in Hoagland for years. He was farmer and a member of Hoagland UMC. Frank spent his retired years spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Many would describe him as compassionate, yet ornery.
He is survived by his children, Steve (Gala) Guenin of Maryville, IL; Sheri (Dean) Stine of Decatur; and Kay (Brian) Youn of Fort Wayne; grandchildhren, Nathan (Amber) Stine of Monroeville; Natalie (Ed) Whitacre of Hoagland; Ryan (Laura) Guenin of Laurel, MD; Justin (Maria) Guenin of Almerimar, Spain; Michael (Colleena) Lewark and Marenna Lewark of Monroeville; Leslie (Mike) Burns of Jacksonville, FL; Natalie Hampton of Glen Carbon, IL; Kris (Jay) Scherrer of Fort Wayne; Corrie (Brandon) Nill of Whitehouse, OH; Stacey (Nick) Fletter of Fort Wayne; Briana (Jake) Borden of Noblesville and Dyson Youn of Herndon, VA; great-grandchildren, McKayla (Kyle) Macke; Katelyn (Derek) Thiel; Taryn and Gabriella Stine; Rylan and Lynneah Whitacre; Scarlett, Emma, Sofia and Ana Guenin; Coby, Kingston, Stefen and Weston Lewark; Stevie Schoof; Matthew (Brittany) Whitacre; Anthony, Joseph, Nicholas and Vincent Burns; Van Hampton; Ty and Jaclynn Scherrer; Bryson and Henley Nill; Jon and Dominick Fletter; and Emma Borden, great-great-grandchildren, Leightyn and Courtlann Macke; Lennon Thiel; Grayson and Arthur Whitacre. He is also survived by his siblings, Roy and Harvey Guenin; Keith (Marna) Guenin and sister-in-law Karen Bowman plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 67 years, Norma (Miller) Guenin and second wife Eileen (Kyle) Guenin; brothers; Walter, Lloyd, Herman, and sisters; Esther and Grace.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 12 Noon at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel Monroeville, IN with his nephew, Pastor John McCullough officiating. Friends and family will be received from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home prior to the service.
