Evelyn R. Gibson

Evelyn R. Gibson, 93, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away Saturday morning, June 28, 2025, at Adams Heritage.

She was born on October 2, 1931, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late J. Keith Marquardt and the late Helen Julia (Oyer) Bonecutter. She was united in marriage to Harry Richard Gibson on June 17, 1948, and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2005.

Evelyn was a lifelong homemaker and assisted her husband on the family farm.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Nancy) Gibson of Decatur, Indiana; granddaughter, Angela (Kevin) Evans of Kokomo, Indiana; grandson, Chris (Tonna) Slusher of Preble, Indiana; grandson, Jason (Melynda) Gibson of Decatur, Indiana; granddaughter, Beverly (Corey) Augustyniak of Decatur, Indiana; grandson, Michael (Dusty) Gibson of Monroeville, Indiana; 14 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by a son, James Ryan Gibson, and two sisters, Ann Towell and Mary Alice Boggin.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana, with Pastor Jeff Springer officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials can be given to Adams Heritage.
