Ernest E.S. Schwartz

Ernest E.S. Schwartz, 26, of rural Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Thursday evening, August 21, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born on June 21, 1999, in Monroe, Indiana, to Eli W. Schwartz and Esther M. (Yoder) Schwartz.

Ernest was united in marriage to Edna E. Schwartz on April 30, 2023, in Monroe, Indiana.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish. 

Ernest is survived by his wife, Edna E. Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; parents, Eli W. & Esther M. Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; sister Edna E.S. Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Emma E.S. (Stephen) Wickey of Monroe, Indiana; brother, Mervin E.S. (Rachel) Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Marie E.S. (Vernon) Wickey of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Mark E.S. (Lila) Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Wilma E.S. Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Yoder of Cynthiana, Kentucky; father and mother-in-law, Daniel L.D. & Elizabeth R. Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana.

Ernest was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Andrew W. & Emma S. Schwartz; and maternal grandfather, Mervin Yoder.

A funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Eli W. Schwartz Residence, 2881 West 100 South Monroe, Indiana, with Bishop Amos M. Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery in Monroe, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025, and from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Eli W. Schwartz Residence.
