Emma L. Ohler, 60, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Wednesday morning, April 29, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on October 23, 1965 in Decatur, Indiana to Hershel F. and Martha E. (Springer) Boothby. Emma was united in marriage to Anthony Ohler on February 14, 2001 in Poe, Indiana.
Emma was a homemaker. She liked to go camping and fishing at Camp Timberlake in Huntington and enjoyed gardening and canning. She had a remarkable creative gift, pouring her heart into crafts and beautifully made scrapbooks that captured memories in a way only she could. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Ohler of Decatur, Indiana; son, David Brewster of Decatur, Indiana; step-son, Justin (Erika Schaden) Ohler of Decatur, Indiana; grandchildren, Kaylie, Travis, Peyton, Gracie, Kendall, Liam, Penelope, and Princeton; sister, Teresa (Stephen) Novian of Texas; brothers, Hershel (Sue) Boothby Jr. and Terry (Tamara) Boothby both of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Diana (Mike Lindsay) Boothby of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Joe (Kassandra) Boothby of Decatur, Indiana; sister-in-law, Denise Springer of Muncie, Indiana; brother-in-law, David Lewis of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Tony’s siblings, Kristi Avery of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Bob (Sandi) Ohler of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon (Richard) Brown; brother, John Springer; brother, James “Jimmy” Boothby; and sister, Margaret Lewis.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling with Pastor Leonard Tanksley officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Fuelling.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Memorials in Emma’s name can be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling or ACCF Angel Fund – Lung.
