Danny Orlin Dellinger

Danny Orlin “Dan” Dellinger, 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Monday morning, March 30, 2026, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

He was born on May 5, 1940, in Frankfort, Indiana, to the late Orlin Dellinger and the late Margaret (McQuern) Forney. Dan married Nancy Jane Simon on November 9, 2003, in Logansport, Indiana.

Dan honorably served his country in the Indiana National Guard.

He enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge.

Dan graduated in 1958 from Colfax High School in Frankfort, Indiana. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in Kokomo, Indiana, following 38 years of service.

Dan and family enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, boating on many different lakes, and camping. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles for several years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially golfing, fishing, and helping on the farm. Dan and Nancy loved traveling and have visited all 50 states.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dellinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Toni (Rex) Slusser of Logansport, Indiana; daughter, Leslie (Scott) Icenogle of Westfield, Indiana; step-daughter, Cinda Bishop of Indianapolis, Indiana; step-daughter, Chelli (Troy) Smith of Villa Rica, Georgia; step-daughter, Chanda (Russ) Gross of Churubusco, Indiana; brother, Mike (Joyce) Dellinger of Alabama; sister, Joyce Bennett of Tennessee; sister, Delyna (Chuck) Bales of Indiana; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana, with Pastor Ernie Suman officiating. Burial will follow at M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne, Indiana.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Preferred memorials can be given to the ACCF – Heart or Cancer Fund.
