Cynthia K. "Cindy" Roe

Cynthia K. “Cindy” Roe, 79, of Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Swiss Village.

She was born on January 1, 1947, in Wells County, Indiana, to Arthur and Vera (Biberstine) Harris. On August 16, 1996, Cindy was united in marriage to Leon Roe in Geneva, Indiana.

Cindy graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1965 and began her career at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where she worked for several years as a nurse’s aide. She later served as a secretary to the director of Adams Wells Special Services. In 1991, Cindy joined Bluffton Regional Medical Center as Supervisor of Admissions and Registration, a position she held until her retirement in 2000.

Cindy also opened her home as foster parents, providing care and support to many children over the years. Until her health prevented her from doing so, she enjoyed gardening and canning. Cindy also loved her pug companion, Edna.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Roe of Monroe, Indiana; son, Carey (Laura) King of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Kimberly Paterson of Ontario, Canada; son, Daniel (Angie) King of Ligonier, Indiana; bonus son, Ken Paterson of Alberta, Canada; brother, Douglas (Joan) Harris of Syracuse, Indiana; sister, Cheryl Austin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister-in-law, Linda McMillen of Decatur, Indiana; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carrie Dawn King in infancy; and two brothers, Robert Harris and Larry Harris at six months.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
