Connie S. Lane

Connie S. Lane, 81, of Berne, Indiana, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 17, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on July 7, 1945, in Berne, Indiana, to the late Hobart Brown “Brownie” and Nellie May (Bailey) Woodruff. Connie was united in marriage to Charles Edward Lane on September 30, 1993, and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2022.

Connie graduated from Berne-French High School in 1963 and Ravenscroft Beauty College in 1965. Connie owned and operated Connie’s Beauty Salon in Geneva for three years and has been a hair stylist for fifty-five years, working in salons and at her residence. She was also employed by CTS, Geneva Variety Store, Gerber’s of Berne, and Parkway Restaurant.

She thoroughly enjoyed doing cosmetics and hair styling. In her free time, Connie loved a good shopping trip and also gardening.

Connie is survived by her son, Richard (Dawn) Dressel of Marshall, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Lynn Dressel of Toledo, Ohio; step-son, Steven (Jody) Lane of Fort Wayne, Indiana; step-son, Charles (Vicki) Lane of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Ina Elaine Dick of Muncie, Indiana; six grandchildren, Mitch, Ashley, Shannon, Erin, Drew, and Richelle; niece, Monica Sue Dick of Indianapolis, Indiana; and nephew, Brad Dick of Detroit, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert D. “Bob” Dressel; brother-in-law, Harold Dick; and infant brother, Jack Lee Woodruff.

In honoring Connie’s wishes, no services will be held.
