Colleen K. Fuhrmann, 75, of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away at 10:23 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born on April 19, 1950 in Adams County, Indiana to the late Robert and Geraldine (Gallmeyer) Buuck. She married the late Ronald Fuhrmann on March 12, 1977, who preceeded her in death on January 9, 1997.
Colleen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen, and served on the Hoagland Area Advancement Association.
She worked at General Electric and Indiana Auto Auction. Colleen was a devoted worker for Wyneken Child Care since its inception until she retired in 2021.
She loved putting puzzles together, working in her flower garden, and playing cards with her cousins. For years, Colleen met with girlfriends and family members on Tuesday nights for bowling at Villa Lanes in Decatur. Every year around her favorite holiday (Christmas), she would make sugar cookies and hard candy, as well as enjoy the decorations of her elaborate Christmas trees and iconic Christmas village. Colleen enjoyed the company of many friends and family, always welcoming new ones into her heart and into her home. She often told whomever came over to "make yourself at home". She served with an open heart and open hands, and leaves behind many friends whom she considered family.
Surviving are her two daughters, Michelle Fuhrmann of Hoagland, Indiana, and Kelly (Jeffery) Goble of Middletown, Indiana; two granddaughters, Khloe Goble and Bailey Goble; one grandson, Easton Goble; three sisters-in-law, Delores Maldeney, Lois (John) Lane, and Sharon (Mike) Christianer; one brother-in-law, Elden Fuhrmann; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Colleen was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Buuck; father-in-law, Paul Fuhrmann; mother-in-law, Adelinda Fuhrmann; and four brothers-in-law, Larry Fuhrmann, Dean Fuhrmann, Lynn Fuhrmann, and Leonard Fuhrmann.
Family and friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and from 9:15-10:15 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen. Burial to follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and statuary, the family requests that memorials be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen or Wyneken Lutheran School.
