Chris D. Hoffman, 67, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Saturday evening, January 3, 2026, following an illness of several years.
Chris was born on July 4, 1958, in Decatur, Indiana, to Gilbert O. Hoffman and Florence Della Louise (Aumann) Hoffman, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was united in marriage to Tammy Eileen Miller on March 9, 1990, at North Highlands Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Chris graduated from Heritage High School with the Class of 1976 and dedicated 48 years of his career to sales in the wire die industry. He worked with Hoosier Wire Die in Fort Wayne, owned and operated Heritage Wire Die, before he finally retired from Woodburn Diamond Die in 2024. In addition to his professional career, Chris helped with farming from 1972 to 1995.
A faithful and devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bingen, Indiana, Chris served in numerous leadership roles throughout the years, including chairman. He was also a member of American Legion Post 420 Sons of the Legion in Monroeville, Indiana; HAAA; and was a lifetime member of the International Wire Association.
Chris and Tammy enjoyed traveling together and spending time with family. In his free time, Chris enjoyed farming, playing golf, and working. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication, and deep love for his family, grandchildren, and church. His smile and sense of humor remained with him through his final days.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Tammy Hoffman of Monroeville, Indiana; two sons, Benjamin (Kristi) Hoffman of Monroeville, Indiana, and Nathan (Chloe) Hoffman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and a daughter, Abigail (Matthew) Sorg of Hoagland, Indiana; four grandchildren, Hudson Hoffman, Parker Hoffman, Margaret Hoffman, and Mason Sorg, and three step-grandchildren, Broc & Paisleigh Caldwell, and Vaida Tomkinson; sister, Annette D. Ray of Decatur, Indiana; and a brother, Richard D. Hoffman of Hoagland, Indiana.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church – Bingen, with Pastor Peter Brock and Pastor Berett Steffen officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery – Bingen.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church – Bingen, and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. prior to the service on Friday at the church.
Preferred memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church – Bingen or Stillwater Hospice.
