Charlotte B. McCowan

Charlotte B. McCowan, 77, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2026, at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born on June 11, 1949 in Van Wert, Ohio to Ernest and Alice Donne (Presgrave) Klinker.

Charlotte was a 1967 graduate of Woodlan High School. She dedicated 16 years to Holsum Bakery, working in payroll and personnel. Following her time at Holsum, she worked for two years at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne, and later spent two years at Virginia Materials in Norfolk, Virginia, before retiring.

She loved movies, books, and visiting various restaurants with family and friends. She also liked traveling. She was eager to lend an ear to anyone facing challenges in their lives. She loved “bling” in her life especially around Christmas. She was very devoted to her family and friends and loved them dearly.

She is survived by two sons, Steven McCowan and Ernest McCowan both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; granddaughter, Brianna Lynn McCowan of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Rev. William (Linda) Klinker of Newark, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Linda Klinker of Florida and Jean Klinker of New Haven, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Ann Gumm; brothers, Garth Ernest Klinker at 8 months old, James Klinker, Terry Klinker, and Lynn Klinker; and a sister-in-law, Joan Klinker.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, located at 111 South Water Street in Monroeville, Indiana with Rev. William Klinker officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Convoy, Ohio.

Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the services on Friday, October 30, 2026 at the funeral home.

Memorials in Charlotte’s name can be given to the donor’s choice.
