Charles Jackson “CJ” Bryant, 44, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
CJ was born on October 26, 1981, in Middletown, Ohio. He was the son of the late Charles R. “Buddy” Bryant and Eva (Coffelt) Miller, who survives.
On June 28, 2014, CJ married Tracy Musselman, who survives.
CJ worked as a machinist for 17 years at Star Engineering in Bluffton. Most recently, he was employed at Kennedy Tools in Van Wert until his health no longer allowed him to continue working.
He was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. CJ found peace in the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hiking, and observing wildlife. A lifelong admirer of Michael Jordan, he closely followed his basketball career. Above all, CJ deeply loved his family and made it a priority to be present and involved in their lives and activities.
Survivors include Wife, Tracy Bryant of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Alexis Mussleman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Chandler Bruot of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Noah Greene, Ian Bruot, Remi Bruot, and Carter Mowery; mother and step father, Eva Miller and Duane Hilliard of Bluffton, Indiana; three brothers, Will Meade of Richmond, Virginia; Jeff (Missie) Miller of Franklin, Ohio; and Bill Miller of Heath, Ohio; four sisters, Cary (Rick) Roehm of Rockford, Ohio; Jessie Pendleton, of Virginia; Amy Miles of Troy, NY; Patty (Bill) Morley of Burlington, Michigan; Teresa Profitt of Quincy, Michigan; and Debbie Parks of Coldwater, Michigan; along with four nieces and 10 nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lynda “Joell” Parker; brother, David Roger Bryant; grandfather, Roger Bryant; grandmother, Naomi Lawson; grandparents Belle and Clarence Coffelt; and uncle, Norman “Sonny” Stevens.
A funeral service for CJ will be held at 6:00 p.m. on April 29, 2026 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur with Jeff Miller, CJ’s brother officiating. Burial will follow in the Dayton Memorial Gardens, in Dayton, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Friends and family will be received from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
Preferred memorial can be given to the family for funeral expenses. (checks payable to Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home)
