Carol Ann Bruick, 76, of Angola, Indiana, passed away Saturday evening, August 23, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on December 19, 1948, in Napoleon, Ohio, to the late Herman and Kathryn H. (Erford) Sundermann. She was united in marriage to Michael A. Stoll on March 8, 1968, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1995. Carol then married Dean A. Bruick on December 27, 1997, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest.
Carol was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and prior member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock.
She was a 1966 graduate of Malinta-Grelton High School in Henry County, Ohio. Following high school, Carol graduated from the International Business College in 1968. During Carol’s working years, she was a secretary for St. John Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and retired from Holy Cross Lutheran Church in 2006.
Carol loved collecting and finding antiques; her niche was finding and collecting “Crocks”. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She found peace spending time by the water, both in Indiana and Florida. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Bruick of Angola, Indiana; son, Chad (Angie) Stoll of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Phil (Laura) Stoll of Monroeville, Indiana; step-son, Scott Bruick of Angola, Indiana; step-daughter, Jeanette (Dennis) Melcher of New Haven, Indiana; brother, Philip (Tami) Sundermann of Napoleon, Ohio; sister, Barbara (Robert) Sievers of Morehead, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Logan Stoll, Aubrey Stoll, and Vera Stoll; three step-grandchildren, Cortlan Melcher, Cassondra Melcher, and Harrison Bruick; and one step-great-granddaughter, Addi Melcher.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Ruth Stoll, with whom she shared a close relationship.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials can be given to Lake James Lutheran Chapel, American Diabetes Association, or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
