Barry W. Moore

Barry W. Moore, 73, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Swiss Village. He was born on July 25, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Dallas W. and J. Jonelle (Rosenbury) Moore.

Barry was united in marriage to Denise Lehman on May 31, 1980.

He was a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Berne, Indiana, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and was the Financial Secretary for many years.

Barry was a Certified Public Accountant and worked as a Field Examiner for the Indiana State Board of Accounts. He retired in 2014 after a 30-year career, during which he was honored as the Field Examiner of the Year.

Barry enjoyed solving word, logic, and jigsaw puzzles to keep his mind sharp, and he even created his own word games to share with his family. In his spare time, he played golf and was a member of the Wabash Valley Golf Club in Geneva. He also enjoyed watching sports of all kinds at home.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Moore of Geneva, Indiana; three daughters: Becky (Kory) Ley of Berne, Indiana; Liz Heflin of Berne, Indiana; and Angela (Erik Grayvold) Moore of Chesterton, Indiana; eight grandchildren: Jacob Heflin, Lucas Heflin, Gabriel Heflin, Benjamin Heflin, Titus Grayvold, Hope Grayvold, Gwendolyn Grayvold, and McKenzie Ley; and two brothers, Joe (Denise) Moore of Beech Grove, Indiana, and Tom (Tamara) Moore of Gosport, Indiana.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Berne, with Pastor David Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at MRE Cemetery in Berne.

Family and friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Preferred memorials may be made to the Swiss Village Memory Care Unit.
