Amy Theresa McLemore, 54, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away on Monday afternoon, October 19, 2026, at her residence.
She was born on October 1, 1972 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Larry and Beth (Waterhouse) Dawson. On May 17, 1996 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was united in marriage to Denver McLemore.
Amy devoted over 30 years as a leader in Allen County 4-H, a tradition rooted in her own youth as the 1990 Allen County 4-H Queen. In high school, she was a four-year member of Heritage High School FFA and twirled with the Monroeville Merriettes.
Above all, Amy embraced her role as a homemaker and caregiver, finding her greatest joy in her grandchildren—who were truly her whole life. She treasured every moment spent helping them with their 4-H projects, taking golf cart rides, and making memories together. Creative by nature, Amy found special delight in arts and crafts, especially diamond art, and was always the heart and planner behind family gatherings. She kept family traditions alive through genealogy and by preparing and sharing her grandmother’s cherished recipes. Amy also loved hunting for treasures at garage sales and singing in the car to her favorite music.
Her compassionate heart extended to all animals—from cows and goats to cats, dogs, and ducks—though she firmly drew the line at snakes. Amy’s warmth, nurturing spirit, and vibrant energy will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Denver McLemore of Monroeville, Indiana; two daughters, Courteney McLemore and Harley (Joshua Anglemyer) McLemore both Monroeville, Indiana; father, Larry Dawson of Monroeville, Indiana; mother, Beth Dawson of Monroeville, Indiana; sister, Heidi (Todd) Hood of Hoagland, Indiana; brother, Tyler (Chrystal) Dawson of Churubusco, Indiana; five grandchildren, Hunter Workman, AnnaBelle McLemore, Rider Anglemyer, Denver Anglemyer, and Bauer Anglemyer and her grand pups, Posty and Wednesday along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph and Wilma Waterhouse and Albert and Helen Dawson; and her mother-in-law, Betty June Coon.
