Alfredo "Freddie" Mendez, 53 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Woodcrest Nursing Center . He was born on Monday, August 17, 1959 in San Antonio, Texas the son of the late Roy Alvarado and the late Josefa (Morales) Alvarado. Freddie was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur, Indiana. He a construction worker. Surviving are his brother, Jessie (Audria) Mendez of Orlando, Florida; sister, Dora Zambada of Houston, Texas; brother, Victor Ramirez of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Arthur Mendez of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Juan Mendez of Decatur, Indiana; & several nieces and nephews. Preceding Alfredo in death were a brother, Jose Ramirez. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the family.
