Esther F. Biberstein

December 9, 1921 - February 28, 2016

Esther F. Biberstein, 94, Berne passed away on February 28, 2016 at Swiss Village where she was a resident. Esther was born on December 9, 1921 in Adams County to Jacob and Emma Kneuss Sommer. She married Leroy Biberstein on February 21,1947.

She was a member of the First Mennonite Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, instructor in the Berne Nursery School, a member of Women in Mission and a true prayer warrior. Esther enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing and cooking.

Survivors include; sons; James(Janis)Biberstein of Geneva, Ted Biberstein of Woodbridge, Ill., daughters; Sara Jo(Randall)Sprunger of Geneva, Janet(Bruce)Lehman of Berne, sister, Louise Houser of Berne, 10 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.

Preceding in death are her parents, husband Leroy('08), Vernon Sommer, Lillian Burton, Ida Huser, half brothers Harvey and Robert Lehman.

Funeral services are Thursday, March 3, 10:30 am at the Swiss Village Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation Wednesday from 2:30pm to 8:00pm at the village. Officiating is Pastor Jerry A. Flueckiger. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
